Arthuret Kirkandrews Nicholforest

WW1 Commemorative Service at Kirkandrews

To find the Esk Parishes follow the instructions below: MAP

Arthuret From the south;

Take the M6 to junction 44,  cross the roundabout and head north on the A7 towards Hawick and Edinburgh. After 5 1/2 miles you reach Westlinton. Go over the bridge on the River Lyne and take care for the next mile or so as shortly afterwards is a crossing point for deer, especially at dusk and dawn. You are now approaching Longtown. Just before you enter the town there is a tiny junction on your left with a sign to Arthuret Church. Follow this single track road for about ½ mile then turn right and Arthuret Church is on your left.

Kirkandrews From the south;

Follow the directions above to Arthuret but keep on the A7 through Longtown and over the Bridge on the Esk. Keep on the A7 for about 2 miles, (passing Cochranes a fantastic flower and vegetable nursery on your left) then keep an eye out for a turning on your right on a left hand bend. Follow this single track road for about 1 mile as it twists and turns through fields and the church lies ahead of you.

Nicholforest From the south;

Follow the directions above to Arthuret but keep on the A7 through Longtown until you get to the pelican crossing. Cross the crossing and take the next right at the Bush Hotel. Bear left at the dog leg after 200 yards and then follow the road for about 7 miles where you will come to a T junction. Turn right, taking care to watch for traffic, follow this road for ½ mile and take the first left. Follow this road past the Nicholforest Hall and the church will appear on your left.
